Honorable Senators!

I lay, according to Sec. 3 SSec. 1 of the Senate Advice and Consent Act, before the Senate the Nomination of

Mr. John N. Morman to be Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States

made by the President of the United States, according to Sec. 2 Ssc. 1 Senate Advice and Consent Act.

A Hearing has to be conducted on this nomination. I call upon the nominee to make the following oath

I do solemnly swear that I will tell the truth and nothing but the truth without any additions or reductions. (So help me God.)

Madam President,
der U.S. Senate hat mich im Oktober 2014 angehört und als Federal Judge bestätigt, daran anschließend im Februar 2015 als Associate Justice sowie im Juli 2015 als Chief Justice. In dieser Rolle wurde ich schließlich im Juli 2016, Juli 2017 und im August 2018 in dieser Rolle bestätigt. Ich gehe davon aus, dass Ihnen die Protokolle dieser Anhörungen vorliegen.
Es wäre mir eine Ehre, den Vereinigten Staaten für ein weiteres Jahr in dieser Funktion dienen zu dürfen. Für Ihre Fragen stehe ich selbstverständlich gern zur Verfügung.

Verehrte Kolleginnen und Kollegen.

Ich kenne den Chief Justice sehr gut. Ich habe ihn nicht nur in diversen Anhörungen im Senate erlebt, ich habe auch mit ihm gemeinsam auf der Richterbank des Supreme Court gesessen. Er ist integer, er ist seinem Amt verschrieben und ein fähiger und landesweit akzeptierter Jurist. Ich habe keine Fragen an den Chief Justice und werde seiner Nominierung vorbehaltslos zustimmen.

es gibt keinen Grund, Chief Justice Morman abzulehnen. Er gehört zu den besten Juristen unseres Landes trägt dafür Sorge, daß der SCOTUS gut geführt wird. Ich werde der Nominierung daher zustimmen.
